Antique Furniture Restoration

The restoration of antique furniture requires expertise in cabinetmaking techniques, thorough knowledge of the different periods and styles of furniture, and a well-developed taste for perfection.

Jean-Charles de Amezaga, founder of the Atelier de la Fontaine, studied cabinetmaking in the Faubourg Saint Antoine in Paris, and moved on to specialise in antique furniture restoration. He has continued his work with antique furniture for the last 20 years in Europe, the USA and in Canada.

Based in the mediaeval village of Excideuil in the beautiful region of the Dordogne in the southwest of France, the cabinetmakers at l’Atelier de la Fontaine continue to offer an excellent service in this truly fascinating line of work.
